Restoring the Implant
After the dental implant is fully integrated with the tissue, your dental implant is now ready to be restored. Restorations for dental implants can vary from fixed dentures, dental bridges or the single implant crown.
The dentist will access your dental implant and order the relevant components from the supply company in order to take a dental impression for the manufacturing of the implant restoration.
1) The Implant Impression
This will either be a conventional dental impression with impression material in the mouth or in some cases a digital impression is taken.
2) Fitting of the Implant Restoration/Prosthesis
Finally, the day has arrived for you to get your 'implant teeth' as this is the first time you will now see what your new teeth and smile will look like. The restoration or prosthesis will be fitted and evaluated for colour, shape and function.
